PyTron, Python Programming Session Series - Day 1

Description
PyTron is a Python language-based session series, organized by the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of University of Colombo School of Computing targeting first year undergraduates and giving them an introduction to the CS Chapter. The session series consisted of 4 sessions. Every Sunday starting from 17th of July the sessions continued for 4 weeks. In the first session welcoming and the introductory part to the society was done by the event chair Mr. Varsha Wijethunge and ourspeaker, Mr.Rashmina Senadheera, Second year Undergraduate were able to cover the basics like data types, variables and comparing Python with C. Session 2 was on data structures and control structures which was covered by second year undergraduate Mr. Samindu Cooray followed by session 3 which was done by our fellow second year undergraduate Ms. Namadee Shakya who covered the functions and file handling in Python. Mr. Nethsara Elvitigala covered the final session which was fun and interactive on the turtle library in Python. On the Final session IEEE CS SB Chapter Chair Ms. Manthi Nimaya speaked a few wordsto the juniors and other participants of the session about how oursociety functions and briefly discussed the events we have done so far. Finally the 4 weeks session series concluded successfully with the vote of thanks delivered by the Design Master of the Event Ms. Pawani Nimesha
