The first Annual General Meeting of IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group was held with the purpose of assigning new committee members for the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group for the upcoming year 2023. The meeting was started by Ms.Sapugodage Nayanathara who was the moderator of the IGM. A welcome speech with a small introduction to WIE was given by Ms.Methusha Thuraisingam former Chair of IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of the University of Jaffna. After that, a Speech was given by Dr.(Mrs.) B.Mayurathan, Advisor, IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of the University of Jaffna. In her speech, She mentioned the events which were done by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Jaffna from 2020 and the Importance of the WIE Affinity Group. An AV that added value as proof for the events organized by IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of the University of Jaffna was shared after the speech. Then, the guest of honor, Dr. (Ms.) Akila Wijethunge, Chair of IEEE WIE Sri Lanka Section addressed the audience. Introduction to IEEE WIE, Benefits of WIE, and some Special moments of her IEEE journey were included in her Speech and it was an inspiring speech for all the IEEE WIE members. At the end of her Speech, a virtual Token of Appreciation has been displayed on the screen. The Annual report by Ms.R.H.M.Mayuri Shanika Rajakaruna followed the speech of our guest of honor and Ms.Pavithra Kanmaniraja, Former Treasurer, IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of the University of Jaffna presented the Financial report for the year 2021/2022. After that, The positions of Chair, Secretary, Vice Chair, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Webmaster, Public Visibility Team Member (Graphic Designer), Editorial Team Member, Membership Development Team Member, Finance Team Member, Public Visibility Team Member (Video Editor), Public Visibility Team Member (Social Media Coordinator) were appointed for the executive committee of IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of University of Jaffna for the year 2022/2023. It was carried by Ms.Methusha Thuraisingam. Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.Kokila weeragodage Chairperson (Elect) IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of the University of Jaffna.
