Description
The awareness session on the ‘Sri Lankan Electronics Industry’, the first information session held under FInnC’22, was organized by IEEE IES Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa. It was held virtually via zoom on 10th of April 2022 at 4.00pm. The event was commenced by the moderator for the evening, Ms. Selani Indrapala. After that Mr. Seniru Dissanayake, the event co-chair warmly welcomed the audience for the session. The speaker for the evening, Dr. Ajith Pasqual was introduced and welcomed by the moderator to conduct the session. Given the current chaotic situation in the country, Dr. Ajith Pasqual conducted a very informative session on the Sri Lankan Electronics Industry, providing intensive awareness and knowledge about how the Electronics Industry can fuel the growth of the country’s economy and contribute in overcoming the ongoing economic crisis. The Q&A session at the end of the speech conducted by the moderator helped the audience with clearing their doubts regarding the topic and in general about the concurrent situation in the country, from an electronics enthusiast’s perspective. After that the organizing committee of the event addressed the questions raised by the audience regarding FInnC’22. The chapter advisor, Dr. Peshala Jayasekara addressed the gathering admiring the success of the event and expressed his views on the discussed topic. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks by the event co-chair, Mr. Ravindu Munasinghe.
