Discussion Introductions Mr. Dhammika initiated the meeting and gave an introduction of the meeting proceedings. He explained that the main objective of the meeting is to discuss the initial ideas the YP national project chairs have for their terms. Ms. Warunika took hold of the proceedings and invited the project chairs to share their team's vision for the coming year. Studpro Mr. Kaveen, Chair - Studpro, started his presentation stating that they are looking forward to having physical events while also continuing the events that we held virtually last year. He further discussed the team’s plan on organizing the career fair and other workshops in line with the fair. Mr. Dhammika suggested looking into the report compiled in the year 2020 and suggested to continue it this year as the report creates an important impact. He further elaborated to create a platform or a method to continue the report and update it annually. He also stated that StudPro should become an umbrella with different events and workshops and not just organizing the career fair. Mr. Mithushan joined the discussion articulating the importance of keeping a database of the resources that were used. Ms. Dilini also suggested looking into STEM funding as well as to consider organizing a career fair for non-university students. Lets Talk The discussion was initiated by the past co-chair Mr. Dasun. He proposed to create videos with smaller length in addition to longer talks which will assist the team to create more awareness through social media platforms. Mr. Dhammika advised to re-brand the whole project and maybe consider renaming the project with a better name than “Lets Talk”. He also recommended focusing on core skill development and deeper focus on specific topics. Mr. Sheril, the newly appointed chair of Lets Talk, shared his vision with the excom. He iterated that they will try to have more physical events but their main focus is in organizing virtual events. He elaborated that their team's focus is on developing soft skills. Mr. Dhammika suggested having physical events at least quarterly. He also stated that the team should properly structure what the Lets Talk team will cover in their events. INSL Mr. Chanaka, Chair - INSL, explained his idea and plans for the project and elaborated that the team’s idea is to have hybrid mode events throughout the year and depending on the situation have fully physical events. He further explained that the team will continue the “Road to INSL” events. He suggested that he plans to have university level mini competition instead of national level and district level competitions and that the team is trying to figure out if it is feasible. Mr. Dhammika added on to the idea stating that there could be issues in navigation and finances when doing the competitions at a university level and to look into solutions for them. Mr. Ashan made a clarification on the objective of the project and the final output of the project. Ms. Dilini suggested considering an ideation level separate to the main INSL competition if possible. AI Driven Mr. Mithushan suggested having practical sessions in addition to the talks. He also explained the importance of giving more focus to the blog. Mr. Ashan recommended having boot camp execution to be done at a slow and deeper learning process without just flooding information to the participants of the events. SL Inspire SL Inspire chair, Ms. Michelle, explained her vision and plans stating she wants to complete the degree database and confirm them using students. She further elaborated the need for a student base consisting of AL students. Further, the need for guidance on university procedures in letting students select degree programs were discussed. She also stated that she is interested in training the OC members and micro-volunteers in conducting physical events. Mr. Dhammika suggested looking into how STEM education is managed and to maintain the school teacher thread. Y2NPro Mr. Ashan gave an introduction on the project and the objectives of the project. He explained that there will be four parallel programs this year. Fellowship The meeting ended with a friendly chat with the members.
