Discussion Dasun Herath presented the meeting minutes for the month of August while Ashan Bandara proposed that the meeting minutes are in order, and Mithushan Jalangan seconded it. Sub-committee updates Dasun Herath gave the update on the Volunteer Training and Development sub-committee on behalf of Sewwandie Nanayakkara. The team is planning on finalising the PDP format and also conducting the Web development session of the Volunteer 101 series within the next two weeks time. Next, the finance sub-committee update was given by Ashan Bandara - The discussion was mainly focused on settling the SYW congress balance payment and the requested funds and sponsorships secured by the projects for their event executions (INSL and LETs Talk). Dasun Herath is to send a reminder email requesting the Upskill fund for last year. The update of the partnership subcommittee was also presented by Dasun Herath on behalf of Manodya Nabadawewa. The team has finalized the MoUs of MAS and TRACE Expert City. An update on the partnership with MAS and the agreed-upon sponsorship of 14 lakhs was given by Dhammika Marasinghe, and a brief discussion on the utilization of funds was also taken place. The update of the Marcom subcommittee was given by Dilini Ekanayake. The newsletter is already designed by the team. The team is still working on the improvements to the newsletter and a few more improvements were suggested by the Excom. The update on the platform subcommittee was given by Mithushan Jalangan. A demo was held in the previous weeks and the improvements are ongoing according to the suggestions provided. Mithushan Jalangan is to check on the delay in providing the links and updates. Dasun Herath gave the update on the Program Subcommittee. The team is working on finalizing the project tracker and other related documents such as the strategic communication plan for the projects. They are planning to finalize the documents and VTool reporting by the end of the month. Next, the plan for IEEE Day was discussed. Here, a few suggestions were given by Dilini Ekanayake: TryEngineering workshop, Social media contests, Panel discussions, Field visit. It was suggested by Dhammika Marasinghe to go to a virtual engagement instead of a physical event considering the upcoming project events. For example - an experience sharing video/ post series.
