The Annual General Meeting of the IEEE IES Student Branch Chapter for the term 2022/2023 was held on the 29th of September 2021 virtually via Zoom from 7.00 pm onwards. The AGM commenced with an introduction video of the IEEE IES Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa and the gathering was welcomed by the outgoing chairman Mr. Deepana Ishtaweera. The event was honored with the presence of Mr. Kosala Jayasundara (Founding Director of Excel Group/ Elextrone Ltd/ Loyal Enterprises Ltd). Mr. Kosala Jayasundara spoke about the current status of electronic product design in Sri Lanka and also shared his valuable experience about meeting the standards of international electronic designs as well. Afterward, the former secretary and the former treasurer presented the minutes of the 2021 AGM and the Treasurer's Report for the year 2021/2022 respectively. They were proposed and seconded as true and accurate records by the members of the society. Then the Annual report for the year 2021/2022 was presented, which manifested the conclusion of an extremely successful term as a rising student branch chapter at the University of Moratuwa. Next, the chapter advisor, Dr. Peshala Jayasekara delivered an inspirational speech admiring how the IES Student Branch Chapter has developed through the past two years, bridging the gap between industry and academia while benefiting the members as well as the community. Next, the election to appoint the executive committee members for the year 2022/2023 was carried out by the election chair, the outgoing president of IEEE IES Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa, Mr. Deepana Ishataweera. Then, the newly appointed chairman, Mr. Yasod Ginige admired the guidance of the previous committee and mentioned his motivation to bring the chapter to new heights. The event was concluded after the vote of thanks delivered by the newly appointed secretary, Ms.Dinithi Silva.
