The annual general meeting 2022 of IEEE EMBS Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa was successfully held on 8th August 2022 from 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 pm at the Dampe Village Hotel, Piliyandala. The meeting commenced at 11.00 a.m. and the moderators of the event, Ms Umesha Tilakarathna and Mr. Senul Samarasekera welcomed the gathering. Then the lighting of oil lamps was conducted to ceremonially initiate the event. The Chairman, Mr. Ashan Thamara Palihakkara gave a brief review of the activities done by the chapter for the past term. The minutes of the Annual general meeting of 2021 was presented by the secretary Ms. Heshani Munasinghe and it was confirmed as a true and accurate record of AGM 2021 by the members present. The financial report for the term 2021/22 was presented by the treasurer Mr. Nima Wickramasinghe and it was confirmed as accurate. A short video reminiscing the highlights of the past year was then played. The next occasion was to elect a committee for the new term. The new chairman, Mr. Manjitha Kularatne, and the rest of the committee were appointed according to the suggestions of the members. Next, the newly appointed chairman addressed the audience and expressed his thoughts on how to make the new term a successful one. After that Dr. Ranga Rodrigo delivered his speech. Suggestions were taken on how to improve and change the path of the EMBS student chapter for the new term and then certificates were awarded to the outgoing executive committee members. Next, Dr. Rukshani Liyanaarachchi and Dr. Kishara Gooneratne delivered their speeches. Souvenirs were then awarded to the past presidents of the student chapter and the lecturers present. Finally, the newly appointed secretary Mr. Nima Wickramasinghe delivered the vote of thanks, and the meeting was concluded.
