Kick start your IES journey, the very first chapter event of the IEEE IES Student Branch Chapter for the term 2022/2023 was held on the 19th of November 2022 virtually via Zoom. The event started with a teaser video about IES. It was followed by a very thorough introduction to IEEE IES given by the chapter chairman, Mr.Yasod Ginige, upon the invitation of the moderator, Mr. Oshan Yalegama. As the most important part of the event, the two outgoing chair persons of the IEEE IES Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa, Mr. Deepana Ishtaweera and Mr. Oshada Jayasinghe delivered guest speeches sharing their experience on developing entrepreneurship skills and time management respectively. Next, the chapter advisor, Dr. Peshala Jayasekara addressed the gathering and gave his insights about the progress of the chapter since its inception. Finally, were the fun events for the evening. A kahoot session was conducted by the moderator relating to the knowledge discussed in Kick start your IES journey talks. The event was concluded by the moderator, after announcing the winners of the kahoot session. The winner of the Kahoot session was awarded a brand new Node MCU device.
