IEEE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS SRI LANKA - MONTHLY EXCOM MEETING 2022 - DECEMBER

Discussion Dasun Herath presented the Meeting minutes for the month of November. Waruninka Hippola proposed that the meeting minutes are in order and Sewwandie Nanayakkara seconded it. Next, the subcommittee updates were taken. Sewwandie Nanayakkara gave the update on the Volunteer Training & Development Subcommittee where she explained the plan for the upcoming month. They will be refining the questionnaires of the PDP and completing the PDP documentation and looking into two pending sessions in Volunteering 101. Dhammika Marasinghe suggested doing the Web Development and Reporting sessions before the end of the term. An update of the Marcom subcommittee was given by Dilini Ekanayake. They are planning to recruit new members to the team and planning on continuing with their pending work in the coming month. A People Management update was given by Tharaka Munasinghe. Execution of Volunteer of the month and availability tracking will be starting from the month of January. The pending recruitments will be addressed in the upcoming week. The Program subcommittee update was given by Dasun Herath. The project tracker and guidelines were presented to the executive committee and they are planning to share them with the projects and start executions from the month of January. It was agreed to get all the details required for event reporting through the project tracker itself. Next, a few announcements regarding the section’s AGM were given by Warunika Hippola. An initial discussion of the YPSL AGM took place. Several suggestions came up to have the AGM as a ticketed event, and to bring down the partnering organizations and main sponsors of YP projects to the AGM to have a valuable addition to the event. Furthermore, it was agreed that the excom members will come up with ideas for the AGM and a separate discussion will be taken for detailed planning of the event. Thereafter, an update from the Member benefits and opportunities subcommittee was given by Chamodhi Withanagamage. The team is planning to collect the feedback forms from the mentoring program within the month. Next, a discussion was initiated regarding printing the YP T-shirts. It was suggested to revisit and recheck the t-shirt counts and designs to finalize T-shirt printing by the end of the year. The meeting concluded at 23 00hrs.
