The Panel Discussion on “A Smarter Way to Create Value” of TECHZER was held on the 04 th of September 2022 virtually with the participation of the honourable panelists and the participants from all-island-wide universities, schools and technology enthusiasts. The panelists of the discussion were Mr.Sharmilan Somasundaram and Mr.Shashi Meghawarna. For a insightful session, the moderator of the panel discussion was also invited from the industry who has expert background on Blockchain. Mr. Dinuka Piyadigama was the moderator of the Panel Discussion.The IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of SLTC organized the session and the session was commenced at 6.00 pm via the ZOOM platform with Facebook and Youtube live streaming. The event was commenced by welcoming all the panelists and the moderator of the panel discussion. The participants were given a brief introduction about the project TECHZER and the stages of it. The honourable panelists were invited to the discussion floor. First, Mr.Sharmilan Somasundaram was invited. He is the Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Niftron which is a Blockchain as a service platform that recently won the SAARC startup award, and a blockchain consultant/advisor for multiple organizations and startups globally. Next, Mr.Shashi Meghawarna was invited to the discussion floor. He is the founder of Mobiglotech Blockchain Corp Public Ltd. He is a leading blockchain systems developer cum entrepreneur who has held top positions in fin-tech organizations and startups. He has founded applications such as EXIP and Startup-Hut globally and is currently serving the global fintech industry in many startups and projects as a key consultant. Then the discussion floor was handed over to Mr. Dinuka Piyadigama who is a Full-Stack Software Engineer with experience in developing Decentralized Blockchain Apps. He has around 2 years of experience in the Blockchain space. He has worked as a Blockchain/ DApp developer at Niftron, as a Software Engineer at Circles Life & a Trainee Associate Software Engineer at Zone24x7. He has also directed the startup, Inforwaves to expand its clientele to some of the major brands in Sri Lanka. Mr. Dinuka Piyadigama started the discussion with a simple question ‘What is Blocckhain?’The two panelists answered the question according to their perspectives and also Mr.Dinuka added his idea about it. uests from the registrants to talk about crypto trading, technology stacks and programming languages used in Blockchain Applications and about Bitcoin, Ethereum etc. All the participants of the session actively participated from the beginning to the end of the discussion, as the flow of the discussion was quite interesting and insightful. Then the panelists answered for all the questions raised by the participants. After the insightful discussion and QnA session, a KAHOOT session was conducted to interact with the participants and boost the knowledge on the learned stuff. The partiicpants actively participated in the KAHOOT session. Cash prizes will be provided for the winners. The panel discussion was concluded after the end of the KAHOOT. As a whole, the panel discussion was a success with the industrial exposure and the participation of successful professionals in the Blockchain field.
