Sip Abhises 2.0
May 7, 2022 · 2:30 AM - 6:30 AM @ Borelasgamuwa, Ananda Vidyalaya
Description
Sometimes we want to change our style, our beliefs, and many other things; sometimes the world needs to change as well. Countries try a variety of methods to change their system with new ideas and political power, but the majority of these efforts fail to produce the desired results; however, one thing can turn these efforts around in a good way. It’s education. Education can change someone’s life, society, and country; educated people can also change the world to. We are extremely fortunate to have free education from pre-school to university as Sri Lankans, thanks to our taxpayers. We are enjoying the benefits of free education. But sometimes some schools don’t have enough resources to fulfill students' educational needs. They need someone's help. As university students who have benefited from "free education," we have a responsibility to assist the next generation in meeting their educational needs. That’s why the IEEE WiE Affinity Group Student Branch of the University of Moratuwa organized "Sip Abhises" to help those who needed our support. First, we conducted some preliminary research on O/L results and the most difficult subjects that ordinary-level students faced. So we now know they have difficulties with the O/L mathematics subject. So we choose to help OL students with their mathematical educational matters.. IEEE WiE Affinity Group Student Branch of the University of Moratuwa will be a pillar of strength and support for O/L students for the second year in a row. This seminar series was conducted by Chamindu Liyanage, an electronic and telecommunications engineering undergraduate at the University of Moratuwa. Sip Abhises was held from 8 a.m. onwards on May 7, 2022, at Borelasgamuwa Ananda Vidyalaya. It was a wonderful experience for both of us, and those students gave us a few notes written by them. Those notes said how they think about our seminar; it was wonderful. Most of the students said that they have many difficulties regarding some lessons, but after the seminar most of their doubts were cleared, and they thanked us a lot. At that moment, we thought our project was 100% successful, and we wouldn't stop here. We need to continue this work for more and more students..
