Description

Hackaholics 5.0 is a Girls’ Only Hackathon organized by the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of UCSC, which was held for the fifth consecutive year. The purpose of this event is to provide female undergraduates with an opportunity to discuss some critical issues in our society and come up with the best solutions. As an Ideathon, this event helps build cooperation, collaboration, and coordination among participants. The event began with a virtual scholarship awareness session for all undergraduates across the country to give them exposure to the scholarships. This event consisted of two rounds. Following the awareness workshop, teams of three students from the same university were able to submit proposals for the initial round. The final 10 teams were chosen from them. The finalists participated in the final round, which took place physically on February 26th, 2023. The final 10 teams were chosen by the judging panel consisting of lectures, and the final round winners were chosen by the judging panel consisting of industry experts. Winning teams were awarded cash prizes. Objectives Encourage and motivate women in technology. Inspire the participants to take a risk. Enhance the participants to understand their potential.
