"Game of Codes" is a program idea initiated by the IEEE WIE Affinity Group of the University of Kelaniya. This concept was implemented for the second consecutive time this year, with the aspiration of presenting another brand-new experience to all the participants. The main goal of this event is to uplift the knowledge of game development among undergraduates, especially girls. 'Game of Codes' aims to provide benefits beyond the competition itself, and thus, the event was structured into two phases. Phase 1 - Two Workshops Phase 2 - Battle of Coders The “Battle of Coders”, 24-hour Game Development Competition was the highlight of the "Game of Codes" event. The competition was open to all interested undergraduates, regardless of whether they attended the workshops in Phase 1, and it aimed to provide them with a platform to apply their knowledge and showcase their creativity in game development. A total of 16 teams registered for the competition, and they were given guidelines during the introductory session held on the 25th of March at 5.00 p.m. The competition ran from 25th March, 6.00 pm to 26th March, 6.00 pm, where the participants had 24 hours to develop their games based on the given sample gameplay video and sample assets. To ensure that the teams had the necessary support during the competition, a group of mentors was assigned to track the progress of each team. The mentors evaluated the progress of each team twice within the 24-hour timeframe, providing guidance and feedback to help the teams complete their games. The games developed by the teams will be judged by a panel of experts from the game development industry. The winners will be announced at the award ceremony. The competition helped to showcase the talent and potential of young game developers and encouraged them to continue pursuing their passion in this field. The “Battle of Coders”, 24-hour Game Development Competition was a resounding success.
