We are delighted to share with you a brief recap of the second webinar held as part of the PES Day 2023 celebrations. This event was a collaborative effort between the IEEE PES SBC of the University of Moratuwa and the IEEE PES MEA Engineering College SB and it focused on the intriguing topic of "The High Penetration of Various Renewable Energy into Electric Power Systems, Challenges, and Solutions." On the 10th of May 2023, participants from around the world eagerly joined the webinar via Zoom to explore the complexities and advancements associated with integrating renewable energy sources into existing power systems. The event commenced at 6:00 p.m. (GMT+5:30), setting the stage for an engaging and enlightening discussion. The speaker adderessed the challenges faced when introducing a higher share of renewable energy into power systems, while also presenting innovative solutions to overcome these obstacles. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the latest developments, emerging technologies, and best practices that can facilitate the seamless integration of renewable energy sources. There were around 40 participants world-wide joined via zoom. The event presentation and other materials were also shared with the participants through different platforms.
