The CSP Lecture Series, an esteemed annual event organized by the IEEE WIE Affinity Group of the University of Peradeniya, has maintained its tradition of excellence since its inception in 2013. One of the driving forces behind its success has been the invaluable contribution of Eng. Anuradha Udunuwara, who has adeptly bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications for Electrical & Electronic undergraduates. This year's lecture series unfolded from May 25 to June 29, spanning eight days with sessions conducted in both physical and online formats. Physical lectures took place every Thursday from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm in Lecture Room 8. The comprehensive curriculum covered pivotal topics, encompassing an industry overview, the evolution of communication technologies, and the shift from traditional telecom to digital service providers. Discussions encompassed Network Programmability, Network Functions Virtualization, Cloudification, SDANs, open networking, automation, and challenges within the Telco domain. With fervor and dedication, around 40 students participated actively throughout the series. Impressively, 28 students secured certificates by demonstrating an exceptional 80% attendance rate, showcasing their commitment to learning. Eng. Anuradha Udunuwara's voluntary contributions have been instrumental in the resounding success of the series. His insightful sessions have empowered students with practical insights, enabling them to grasp the intricacies of the telecom industry. A significant highlight, the certificate awarding ceremony, transpired on July 26, 2023, at the DEEE seminar room starting from 5 pm. The event was graced by Prof. Lilantha Samaranayaka, Head of the Department, who expressed appreciation for the efforts of the IEEE WIE Affinity Group. A heartfelt token of appreciation was presented to Eng. Anuradha Udunuwara, further cementing his pivotal role in the series' accomplishments.
