Description
The annual general meeting 2022 of IEEE EMBS Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa was successfully held on 30th August 2023 from 09.00 a.m. to 11.05 am at the ENTC1. The meeting commenced at 09.00 a.m. and the moderators of the event, Ms Isiri Withanawasam and Mr. Devnith Wijesinghe welcomed the gathering. Then the lighting of oil lamps was conducted to ceremonially initiate the event. The Chairman, Mr. Manjtha Kularathne gave a brief review of the activities done by the chapter for the past term. After that Dr. Ranga Rodrigo delivered his speech. The minutes of the Annual general meeting of 2021 was presented by the secretary Mr. Nima Wikramasinghe and it was confirmed as a true and accurate record of AGM 2022 by the members present. The financial report for the term 2022/23 was presented by the treasurer Mr. Tinal Laksika and it was confirmed as accurate. A short video reminiscing the highlights of the past year was then played. The next occasion was to elect a committee for the new term. The new chairman, Mr.Kavindu Weerasinghe, and the rest of the committee were appointed according to the suggestions of the members. Next, the newly appointed chairman addressed the audience and expressed his thoughts on how to make the new term a successful one. Following that, Prof. Nuwan Dayananda delivered his speech. Suggestions were taken on how to improve and change the path of the EMBS student chapter for the new term and then certificates were awarded to the outgoing executive committee members. Next, Dr. Rukshani Liyanaarachchi delivered her speech. Souvenirs were then awarded to the past presidents of the student chapter and the lecturers present. Finally, the newly appointed secretary Mr. Senul Samarasekara delivered the vote of thanks, and the meeting was concluded.
