The main aim of the AGM was to appoint office bearers for the new term of office 2023/24.IEEE Student Branch members and other undergraduates willing to join the SB were presented at the meeting, including the outgoing Executive Committee members. The IEEE Annual General Meeting 2023 was a meticulously organized and highly significant event that unfolded with grace and grandeur. It commenced with the arrival of esteemed guests. The AGM started with a welcome address by the outgoing Chair of the Student Branch Chairman, Mr. Supun Hansika, introducing the newly established IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter. The Advisor of the Computer Society, Dr. Pradeep Kalansooriya, announced the nominations. The newly elected CS Chapter Chairman, Mr. Mihin Kariyawasam, delivered an inspiring speech, igniting enthusiasm among the audience. Subsequently, the Annual Activity Report by Ms. Tharushi Dharmasiri and the Budget Report by Mr. Sasanka Weerakoon provided insights into the accomplishments and financial aspects of the IEEE Student Branch. Dr. Asela Gunasekara's address and the election of office-bearers marked a pivotal moment in the meeting. Ms. Vismini Amarasinha, the newly appointed IEEE SB Chairperson, delivered an impassioned speech, setting the tone for the year ahead. The event was graced with a guest speech by the Chairperson of - Student Activities Committee, Mr. Lakshan Madhushanka. The IEEE WIE Chairperson, Ms. Dewni Deraniyagala, presented the Annual Activity Report and Budget Report, further emphasizing the achievements of the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group. Dr. Asela Gunasekara conducted the election of office bearers for this group as well. The newly appointed IEEE WIE Chairperson, Ms. Gayashani Divyanjalee, shared her vision for the future. Tokens of appreciation were distributed to outgoing Executive Committees. The event was concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by the appointed IEEE SB Secretary Ms. Pavani Rathnayaka.
