IEEE Day, a globally esteemed event celebrated by IEEE members and students, serves as a commemoration of the pivotal moment when engineers and IEEE members worldwide converged to exchange their invaluable technical insights. The IEEE Student Branch of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, in collaboration with its esteemed affinity groups, meticulously organized an Article Competition as a tribute to IEEE Day. This competition served as a meticulously crafted platform, allowing our students to express their profound insights and forward-thinking visions within the ever-evolving landscape of technology. This grand event unfolded on the 12th of October, 2023, commencing at 2:30 PM in the Mini Theatre, FOM building. Notably, two distinguished speakers, Mr. Thilina Bandara and Mr. Dimuthu Anuraj, shared their invaluable insights with the students, enriching the occasion. The theme of this year, "Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow," underscores our commitment to innovation and exploration, highlighting technology's transformative potential and inspiring us to collectively shape a brighter future. It stood as a remarkable testament to the dedication of our students, who ardently uphold the fundamental principles embodied by IEEE Day.
