Annual General Meeting 2023 of the IEEE Student Branch of SLTC The Annual General Meeting 2023 of the IEEE Student Branch of Sri Lanka Technological Campus, conducted on the 1st of June 2023 at SLTC Research University Premises at Padukka, was a momentous gathering that brought together a distinguished array of speakers, outgoing and incoming committee members, and enthusiastic participants. The Executive Committee for the year 2023/24 was declared and the event served as a platform to show appreciation for all the contributions of the past Executive Committees and volunteers as well as an occasion to celebrate all the achievements of the IEEE Student Branch of SLTC throughout the years. The proceedings commenced with the initiation and lighting of the oil lamp, a symbolic act led by notable figures such as Eng. Ranjith G Rubasinghe, Mr. Lakshan Madhushanka, Eng. Heminda Jayaweera, Dr. Lasith Yasakethu, Ms. Swapna Premasiri, Malith Weeramuni, and others. Manula Rajapaksha, the outgoing Chairman of the IEEE IAS Student Branch Chapter of SLTC, set the tone with a welcoming address. The event featured a yearly recap through a video presentation, complemented by insights from Wageesha Aluthgama, the outgoing Vice Chairman of the IEEE Student Branch of SLTC. Eng. Heminda Jayaweera, the Registrar, Director Planning and Operations at SLTC, and Lakshan Madhushanka, the Student Activities Committee Chairman at IEEE Sri Lanka Section, delivered impactful speeches. The ceremony included handing certificates of appreciation to the outgoing executive committee of 2022/23 by Dr. Lasith Yasakethu. Noteworthy speeches were delivered by the outgoing heads of various IEEE chapters, such as the IAS, CS, WIE, IES, and the IEEE Student Branch, each summarizing achievements and announcing the new executive committees. Special guest speakers, including Manodya Nabadawewa and Eng. Ranjith G. Rubasinghe shared valuable insights and perspectives. Shakil Arifeen, the newly appointed Chairman of the IEEE Student Branch of SLTC took to the stage to officially welcome the newly appointed Executive Committee of the IEEE Student Branch of SLTC. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Sabrina Samath, the newly appointed Student Branch Secretary, expressing gratitude to all participants, guests, and organizers for contributing to the event's success. Overall, the event served as a platform for reflection on past accomplishments, recognition of outgoing leaders, and anticipation for the promising future under the newly appointed leadership of the IEEE Student Branch at SLTC.
