The IEEE Industry Applications Society Student Branch Chapter of SLTC Research University (IEEE IAS of SLTC) in collaboration with QUBEBOT and have completed their latest project, “DroneU” This workshop aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of drone control systems and the principles of drone design. The workshop will be an interactive and hands-on learning experience, combining theoretical knowledge with practical exercises. Project "DroneU” initiated as a workshop-based project with the goal of inspiring the next generation of innovators to use Drone technologys in there projects and researches. On June 24th, 2023, we witnessed the grand opening of DroneU, marking the beginning of an exhilarating educational journey into the enthralling world of drones. The day commenced at 9 am with a heartening welcome address from Kanishka Wijayasekara, a prominent figure in the robotics community who represents QUBEBOT. He then gracefully introduced Mr. Tharindu Suraj, the esteemed expert who led this innovative workshop. Mr. Suraj, a seasoned professional deeply passionate about drone technology, embarked on a captivating exploration of drone control systems. With his engaging explanations and practical demonstrations, he unveiled the mechanisms behind these fascinating machines, equipping participants with a profound understanding of their capabilities and functionalities. Taking the learners further into the world of drone operation, Mr. Suraj guided them through the art of controlling and programming drones using the cutting-edge QubeBot platform. This hands-on session provided participants with the opportunity to experience the thrill of operating a drone firsthand, igniting their passion for exploring the boundless potential of these aerial marvels.
