The IEEE Industry Applications Society Student Branch Chapter of SLTC Research University (IEEE IAS of SLTC) collaborated with Zone24x7 on a field visit. The field visit to Zone24x7 offered a unique opportunity for 40 Engineering students from mechatronics engineering, electronics engineering, and power systems programs to delve into the world of embedded systems. The workshop commenced at 3:00 PM. Industry Insights and Hands-on Learning Mrs. Piyumi welcomed the students and initiated an engaging discussion on Zone24x7's core services and their real-world applications. This insightful exchange provided a valuable foundation for understanding the industry's landscape. Next, Mr. Niroshan guided the students through the intricate stages of embedded systems development, shedding light on the complexities and intricacies involved in creating these intelligent systems. This immersive session provided a deeper appreciation for the technical expertise required in this field. Project Exploration and Industry Collaboration To bridge the gap between academia and industry, Mr. Ranjan Kulathunga and the embedded systems team showcased their ongoing projects, igniting the students' passion and curiosity. Their enthusiasm and expertise were contagious, inspiring the students to pursue similar endeavors. The students were not mere observers; they were active participants in the project development process. This hands-on experience allowed them to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, fostering a deeper understanding of the industry's demands. Final Year Project Guidance and Wrap-up Over refreshments, the students engaged in meaningful discussions with embedded team members, seeking guidance on potential final year projects. The team members generously shared their insights and expertise, ensuring that the students embarked on their projects with a clear direction. As the field visit drew to a close, the students reflected on their key takeaways, expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to the embedded systems industry.
