Notes Warunika Hippola welcomed the Excom members to the meeting and explained the purpose and the summary of the outlined items for the day. Samitha presented the financial status of YPSL up to date. There are some sponsorships secured during the month for AIDSL and INSL. One of the major cash outflows was the payment of SLSYWC delegate fees. Heshan presented an update on the status of the Young Protege mentoring program. The team is working on Mentee registration for the program and also on sourcing mentors from both IEEE alumni and from the industry. There were suggestions from the Excom to get a list of delegates coming to SLSYWC and approach the target group to get more registrations. And also to contact the SPSS community at the congress to get some contacts or contributions towards the project. Next, a discussion was initiated about the YPSL stall for SLSYWC. Vidura Bandara gave a detailed explanation on the plan for the stall and the items/ games that will be available for the volunteers. Vidura is to give instructions and create a schedule for the YP delegates to manage the stall during day 3 of the congress. Warunika updated that we could not get any YP goodies this time so that the team will have to manage with the available items and the stickers and pens printed for previous events. Dhammika suggested giving some space for the projects also in the congress stall to educate delegates on the projects and to create space to discuss any possible collaborations that the other delegates, OUs, projects can do with YP projects. Next, the project updates were taken from the Excom members. Studpro - Tharaka gave a brief on the current updates on Studpro and how they are getting ready for the career fair. INSL - Jaseem gave an update on INSL that the team is starting with the regional programs and they are working with the ICTA Global Entrepreneurship program as well. SLI- Michelle updated the Excom on the progress of SLI. The Career compass session has been held in collaboration with the SIGHT Filter of hope program. The team is planning to have the sessions in Matara with MEPA towards the 3rd week of November. AID - Thihara gave an update on AID and presented that they are trying to get Microsoft to partner with the AI Bootcamp. LETstalk - Vidura gave an update on the project and that they have finalized a location for the leadership camp. Y2NPro - they have been contacting Peradeniya university and got some contacts to do a practical EDA session in the university. They are also working on a finance plan for this event. Warunika Hippola made a few comments and requested the Excom look into the progress of the projects qualitatively and keep track of the major actions items or decisions taken towards the progress of the projects.
