Description

Unveiling the Wonders of Machine Learning to explore critical risks, ethical dimensions, and regulatory concerns with expert guidance. Machine learning has significantly advanced over the past decade, leading to discoveries that have changed the nature of human civilization. Machine learning-based solutions address critical problems in science, physics, medicine, healthcare, and climate modeling, as well as powering common applications like autonomous driving, recommendation systems, language modeling, and speech recognition. As machine learning models are increasingly implemented in real-world applications, understanding the associated safety, security, privacy risks, and ethical issues is crucial. This talk offered an overview of machine learning issues, including regulatory concerns and ongoing challenges. It was wrapped up by presenting some of the research on machine learning robustness at the Networked Systems and Security Research Lab at the University of Sydney.
