IEEE Day is an annual event celebrated worldwide to commemorate the first time IEEE members gathered to share their technical ideas in 1984. It typically takes place on the first Tuesday in October. The day marked by various activities organized by IEEE members and volunteers globally, including seminars, workshops, and outreach events. It aims to promote awareness about the contributions of technology and engineering to improve the quality of life. In October, IEEE student branch of UoVT proudly commemorate alongside the joyous observance of our 5th anniversary. The student branch reached a significant milestone by completing five years of existence, marking a journey filled with an academic growth, technical powers, and community engagement. The program was held in 27th October 2023 at 8.30 a.m. to 12.00 pm at Auditorium of University of Vocational Technology premises. IEEE day and 5th anniversary celebration of IEEE student branch of UoVT was conduct under the supervision of Professor R.L.W. Koggalage Counsellor and Senior Treasurer of IEEE student branch and Senior lecturer of faculty of Engineering Technology of UoVT , with the permission of Professor C. Mahesh Edirisinghe Vice Chancellor of the UoVT, Mrs. N. Diyabedanage Director General of the UoVT and Dr. Jayalal Weththasinghe Dean and Senior Lecturer of faculty of Engineering Technology of UoVT
