STEM SPARK is a collaborative project between the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Groups of the University of Kelaniya, the University of Ruhuna, and the University of Vavuniya. Our project aims to organize a dynamic workshop focusing on empowering after O/L students to choose STEM as their career path. This workshop is designed to provide valuable insights, foster connections, and inspire the next generation of women in STEM. Our Goals of the event were as below. Ignite curiosity and interest in STEM fields by showcasing the exciting possibilities and real world applications of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Present a diverse range of STEM career opportunities to broaden participants' understanding of potential paths, encouraging them to explore fields they may not have considered. Introduce relatable and successful role models in STEM through engaging stories and experiences, illustrating the varied journeys within the field. Empower young women to overcome gender barriers and confidently pursue STEM careers by sharing strategies, experiences, and success stories. Offer participants the opportunity to directly engage with industry professionals, professors, and successful individuals in STEM through a structured Q&A session.
