Step into IES, the very first chapter event of the IEEE IES Student Branch Chapter for the term 2023/2024 was held on the 4th of November 2023 virtually via Zoom. The event started with a teaser video about IES. It was followed by a very thorough introduction to IEEE IES given by the chapter chairman, Mr.Induwara Senadheera. As the most important part of the event, the two outgoing chair persons of the IEEE IES Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa, Mr. Deepana Ishtaweera and Mr. Oshada Jayasinghe conducted a panel discussion primarily focused on career experiences and the process of choosing a career path in the field and how the journey with IES has helped their personal growth. Next, the chapter advisor, Dr. Peshala Jayasekara addressed the gathering and gave his insights about the progress of the chapter since its inception. Finally, were the fun events for the evening. A kahoot session was conducted by the moderator relating to the knowledge discussed in the Step into IES session. The event was concluded by the moderator, after announcing the winners of the kahoot session. The winner of the Kahoot session was awarded a brand new Node MCU device.
