On April 4th, 2024, the IEEE WIE Affinity Group of University of Moratuwa hosted "Nurturenook 2024" at Blooming Buds Preschool in Homagama. With Abans as our esteemed gold partner, we embarked on a journey of joy and education, showering the children with colorful stationery packs, including essential items like drawing books, double ruled books, pencils, erasers, pastel boxes, kids clay packets, and glue bottles to alleviate the burden of high prices caused by the prevailing economic crisis in our country. Our primary goal was to support preschool children from underprivileged backgrounds, and we carefully selected a preschool that fit this criterion. In addition to providing stationary packs, we offered a monetary donation to further aid their education. During our visit, we organized a series of fun games and activities, bringing smiles and laughter to the children's faces. We also joined in their play and danced alongside them, creating precious memories of joy and togetherness. The children's happiness was palpable, and the teacher expressed her gratitude, emphasizing how the event served as both motivation and a valuable learning experience for the children and herself. Through our efforts, we not only supported their education but also provided them with a day filled with fun and excitement, a departure from their usual preschool activities.
