Industry Applications Society Sri Lanka IEEE Industry Applications Society Sri Lanka Chapter Annual General Meeting 2024 The Annual General Meeting 2024 of IEEE Industry Applications Society Sri Lanka Chapter began after a fellowship with refreshments. The event was held at IESL Auditorium with physical attendance. The keynote speech was presented by Dr Ranga Rodrigo, Head of the Department, Department of Electronic and Telecommunication, University of Moratuwa. The Guest of honour and the chairperson of IEEE Sri Lanka Section Mr Dhammika Marasinghe also addressed the gathering thanking all the volunteers for their amazing support and constant enthusiasm towards volunteering and promised to support the collaborative activities among all the organisational units. The Master of ceremonies of the event, announced the commencement and lit the traditional oil lamp of the Annual General Meeting of IEEE Industry Applications Society Sri Lanka Chapter 2024. The event schedule began with the outgoing president Ms Dilini Ekanayake, by formally welcoming all the participants. The Keynote Speaker of the AGM was Dr Ranga Rodrigo, Head of the Department, Department of Electronic and Telecommunication, University of Moratuwa. The Keynote Speech was about Industrial Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. The evidence throughout the speech, and the depth of knowledge you shared was both enlightening and inspiring. As per the amendment to the constitution following officers were announced for the year 2024 by the Election Officer Prof. Buddika which was considered by a round of interviews held after an open volunteer call. Position Appointed Member Chair Mr. Janitha Dissanayake Vice Chair Mr. Bhanuka Dayawansa Immediate Past Chair Ms. DIlini Ekanayaka Secretary Ms. Gayathri Bandara Treasurer Mr. Sheril Nilanka Assistant Secretary Ms. Piyumi Prasangika Assistant Treasurer Ms. Samindi Perera Editor Mr. Nidula Fernando Committee Members Mr Sudantha Ms Warunika Dr Ranga Rodrigo Ms Kavindi The above members were appointed for the respective positions and the Immediate Past Chairman Ms. Dilini Ekanayaka handed her duties to the new Chairman. The newly appointed Chair, Mr. Janitha DIssanayaka explained her vision for the coming year where he indicated improving the volunteer involvement with IEEE IAS projects and especially improving collaborations with other organizational units both regional and global. She also thanked both the outgoing and incoming executive committees during her short address. The vote of thanks was given by the newly appointed Secretary, Ms. Gayathri Bandara.
