Student Branch Constitution Update: Meeting 3

Description
In the fifth meeting held on February 13, 2024, the IEEE UWU SB Executive Committee discussed updates to the existing constitution continuing the previous series of meetings. This meeting, attended by special guest Mr. Dinul Dassanayake, Chairperson of IEEE UWU SB 2021/2022, focused on resolving conflicting sections of the 2015 constitution. The committee reviewed sections 9, 13, 23, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 39, 43, 44, 45, 46, and 49. It was concluded that amending the existing constitution was preferable to creating a new one to preserve the branch's legacy and avoid the need for re-approval from IEEE SL Section and IEEE R10. Specific changes included retaining sections 9, 39, 43, 44, and 45 without alterations, removing sections 23, 30, 34, 35, and 48, and updating section 46 to ensure financial reports are centralized. Additionally, section 49's requirement for submissions to the past chair was made obsolete. The final decisions will be communicated to the Sri Lanka Section Student Representative for feedback.
