The Event Details Flyer Shared with the Public The IEEE Innovation Nation Sri Lanka (INSL) is a prestigious island-wide competition designed to empower entrepreneurship among the youth, particularly focusing on tech-innovators. By providing a platform for students and young professionals to showcase their ideas, the competition plays a crucial role in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. As part of the lead-up to the main competition, a preparatory workshop series is being conducted across all nine provinces of Sri Lanka. These workshops are specifically designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the upcoming INSL competition, which features two main categories: Idea and Business. These categories allow participants to present innovative projects at various stages of development. The first workshop of the IEEE Innovation Nation Sri Lanka (INSL) Uva Province 2024 was held on Tuesday, 9th July 2024 , via Zoom platform , with the participation of approximately 120 undergraduate students from the university, including teams preparing for the INSL competition. This session marked the beginning of the preparatory workshop series aimed at enhancing the entrepreneurial and innovative skills of participants from across the province. The highlight of the workshop was the keynote address delivered by Mr. M Janotheepan , a lecturer affiliated with the Department of Computer Science and Informatics at Uva Wellassa University. Mr. Janotheepan shared valuable insights into the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in today’s technological landscape. His session provided participants with a deep understanding of how to translate their ideas into viable business solutions, highlighting the key aspects of project development and execution. The INSL Uva Province workshop was a resounding success, setting a strong foundation for the participants as they prepare for the upcoming island-wide competition.
