The IEEE Andaharaya 2024, organized by the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Student Activities Committee, was successfully held on July 28, 2024, at Curtin Colombo. This event aimed to provide university students and industry professionals with valuable insights into the benefits and opportunities offered by IEEE, enhancing their leadership and professional skills. It was a day dedicated to inspiration, growth, and transformation. The event featured a diverse agenda of sessions, workshops, and interactive discussions. Participants had the chance to connect with industry leaders and fellow students, enhancing their skills and expanding their networks. One of the key sessions, "Kick Start Your Volunteering Journey as an IEEEian" was delivered by Michelle Perera, Secretary of IEEE Sri Lanka Section. This session provided an introduction to IEEE and highlighted the benefits of volunteering. Michelle shared insights on how becoming a volunteer can enhance both professional and personal growth. Another significant session was “NextGen IEEEian” by Kulunu Weerasoory, Treasurer IEEE YPSL, focusing on membership development and the benefits for graduate students. Kulunu Weerasoory guided participants on how to utilize their IEEE membership and leverage the resources available to them. The session "Unleash Your Inner Leader," led by Anjana Dodampe, Chair of IEEE Techverse Sri Lanka Project 2022, helped participants discover and develop their leadership skills. Anjana led interactive discussions and activities to empower attendees to become effective leaders within IEEE and beyond. Additionally, another session on “Member benefits and students activities,” was delivered by Eranga Kodithuwakku, who is the Section Lead Ambassador of IEEEXtreme at Sri Lanka, where he highlighted the importance of IEEEXtreme as well. The primary goals of IEEE Andaharaya 2024 were membership development, professional development, and leadership development. The event aimed to attract and engage new members, expanding the IEEE Sri Lanka Section's membership roster. It also focused on equipping undergraduates and professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their careers. Furthermore, the event sought to enhance participants' leadership capabilities through interactive sessions and group activities. Highlights of the event included inspiration and learning from expert speakers, networking opportunities with industry leaders and peers, and skill enhancement through various workshops and sessions. Participants were inspired by expert speakers and gained valuable insights into the benefits of IEEE membership. The event facilitated networking with industry leaders and peers, fostering valuable connections, and attendees participated in workshops and sessions designed to develop their leadership and professional skills. The success of IEEE Andaharaya 2024 was made possible by the dedication and enthusiasm of all participants, speakers, and organizers.
