The third workshop of IX 24, titled "HCI at the Intersection of XR and AI," was held on August 20, 2024. The session featured Dr. Piyum Fernando, Senior Design Technologist for Smart Eyewear at Amazon Lab126. Dr. Fernando provided a comprehensive overview of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) in the context of Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), focusing on innovative approaches and cutting-edge technologies. The workshop attracted over 200 participants from various universities, who engaged in a detailed exploration of HCI principles and their application in XR and AI. Dr. Fernando's expert insights and interactive presentation provided attendees with a deeper understanding of how these technologies intersect and evolve. The session included a Q&A segment, allowing participants to discuss their queries and gain further knowledge.
