The university-level finals of CyberZee'24 were held on August 17th, beginning at 1.00 pm at the Faculty of Computing and Technology. This prestigious event marked the culmination of a rigorous competition, with six teams advancing from the semi-finals to compete for top honors in a series of challenging rounds. The finals commenced with a round designed to replicate the format of the semi-finals. This ensured that the level of challenge remained consistent, testing the teams on their core knowledge and problem-solving abilities. Each team was required to demonstrate their proficiency and quick thinking, building on the foundation laid during the earlier stages of the competition. Following this initial round, the competition transitioned to a speech segment. In this phase, each team member was tasked with selecting one of ten pre-determined topics and delivering a 5-minute speech. The topics were assigned in a raffle-style format, which introduced an element of surprise and required participants to be both adaptable and articulate. This round evaluated not only the participants' public speaking skills but also their ability to construct and convey coherent arguments on a variety of subjects. The competition then proceeded to a dynamic round where teams had the chance to grab additional questions. This segment was designed to further test the breadth of knowledge and the teams' ability to think on their feet. By presenting a diverse array of questions, this round challenged the participants to demonstrate their versatility and strategic thinking in real-time. Oversight for the event was provided by a distinguished panel of judges, including Retired Air Commodore Jayasiri Amarsena, the CEO of FITIS Sri Lanka, and Ms. Minoza Mohamed from SL CERT. Their extensive expertise and impartial evaluation ensured that the competition maintained its rigor and fairness throughout the final rounds. Upon the conclusion of all competition rounds, the top three teams were awarded for their exceptional performance, securing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places based on their overall results. The title of CyberZee'24 Champion in the Inter-University category was awarded to the team with the highest cumulative score across all rounds, recognizing their comprehensive understanding and ability to excel under pressure. The event also featured the presentation of CyberZee awards, which celebrated outstanding achievements and performances throughout the competition. This segment of the ceremony honored individuals and teams who demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication. The entire CyberZee'24 Quiz Competition was meticulously organized and supported by the Organizing Committee, ensuring a seamless and competitive conclusion to the event. The comprehensive planning and execution of the competition underscored the commitment to delivering a high-caliber and engaging experience for all participants.
