The Cyberzee '24 Award Ceremony, hosted by the IEEE CS Chapter of the University of Kelaniya in collaboration with the ISACA Student Group, was a landmark event in the technical community, celebrating and recognizing exceptional talent from over 100 teams representing schools and universities across the region. The ceremony, made possible through the generous support of Brandix as the Title Sponsor and Lady J as the Bronze Sponsor, was further enhanced by crucial partnerships with FITIS and Sri Lanka CERT as Knowledge Partners, Barista as the Food and Beverage Partner, Monara TV as the Media Partner, and 'Maubima' and 'Ceylon Today' as printed media partners. The Department of T-Shirts also contributed as the Gift Partner, adding a special touch to the event's mementos. The meticulously planned agenda commenced with guest seating at 2:30 PM and the Lighting of the Oil Lamp at 3:00 PM, signifying the official start of the event. The formal proceedings began with the University Anthem at 3:05 PM, followed by a Welcome Address that set the tone for the day's celebrations. The ceremony was graced by an esteemed panel of chief guests, including Mr. Lakmal Embuldeniya, President of ISACA Sri Lanka Chapter, Mr. Indika Rajakaruna, Secretary of ISACA Sri Lanka Chapter, Mr. Asanka Suraweera, Director of Education and Training at ISACA Sri Lanka Chapter, Mr. Prageeth Sanajana Kapuruge, General Manager of IT Infrastructure and Security at Brandix, Retired Air Commodore Jayasiri Amarsena, CEO of FITIS Sri Lanka, and Mr. Nirosha Ananda, Chief Information Security Officer at Sri Lanka CERT, among others. Representatives from Sri Lanka CERT, including Ms. Minoza Mohamed and Ms. Kaushani Wijetillaka, also attended. The agenda featured a Guest Speech by Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Technology, who shared insights into the evolving landscape of technology and its societal impact. This was followed by a Chief Guest's Address by Mr. Lakmal Embuldeniya, emphasizing the critical importance of cybersecurity and technological innovation. A Guest Lecture by Sri Lanka CERT provided valuable perspectives on current cybersecurity challenges and best practices. The awards segment was a focal point, recognizing top performers in both school and university categories with accolades for Second Runners-Up, First Runners-Up, Champions, and Most Popular Teams. Special recognition was given to the Cyberzee Champions, highlighting their exceptional achievements throughout the competition. The event also featured an Entertainment Segment, which added a lively and engaging element to the proceedings. Following this, an Address by the Title Sponsor allowed Brandix to express its support for technological advancements. A Panel Discussion with industry experts provided further insights into emerging trends and future directions. The ceremony concluded with an Address by the Lecturer-in-Charge, Dr. Navodi, who expressed gratitude to all participants and supporters, followed by a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem. The Cyberzee '24 Award Ceremony was not only a celebration of technical excellence but also a significant platform for networking, learning, and fostering collaboration within the technical community, cementing its status as one of the premier technical events of the year.
