On June 24th, 2024, the IEEE SLInspire, powered by IFS Sri Lanka, hosted a Career Compass - Career Guidance Session at Kuli-Sripathi Royal College. Approximately 80+ Grade 11 students, filled with curiosity about their academic paths, eagerly joined the session. The event kicked off at 1.30 p.m., sparking excitement among both students and teachers. The main goal was to assist students in making informed decisions about their Advanced Level (A/L) studies. Many students faced uncertainty when choosing A/L subjects, and the session aimed to clear their doubts and empower them to make confident choices. Furthermore, students were introduced to a variety of university degrees. The session aimed to broaden their perspectives and inspire exploration of different academic and career avenues. A highlight of the session was the interactive quiz that followed the discussion. Students participated enthusiastically, showcasing their knowledge and eagerness to learn. Those who answered questions correctly received gifts, adding a fun element to the educational experience. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing satisfaction with the content and delivery by the SLInspire team. Overall, the Career Compass - Career Guidance Session at North Western province proved successful in providing valuable insights and empowering Sri Lankan school students to navigate their academic journeys with confidence.
