Through the award ceremony, MERCon was able to recognize and celebrate outstanding contributions to engineering research, by choosing a “Best Paper” from each track, through a pool of nominations. Best papers were nominated, evaluated, and chosen by subject-matter experts as appointed by the ERU. All keynote speeches as well as the award ceremony were held at the auditorium of the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Moratuwa, with open access requiring no registration for any interested undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty members of the University.
