On the 12th of August 2024, the IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter KDU organized an awareness session for Intake 41. The session, held at FOE 4-1 lecture room from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, was aimed at introducing the new intake to the field of electrical engineering and the opportunities within it.The keynote speaker for the session was Eng. (Ms) Anuji Withana, who shared her valuable insights into the challenges undergraduates might face and the myriad career opportunities available in the field of electrical engineering. Her presentation was both informative and inspiring, offering the students a glimpse into the future of their academic and professional journeys. Following her presentation, a plaque was presented to Ms. Anuji as a token of appreciation for her contribution. Subsequently, Shakir Wazeer, the past president of PES KDU, provided a brief introduction to the society, encouraging the new intake to join and participate actively in its initiatives. The session concluded with an interactive quiz on the fundamentals of electrical engineering, conducted using Blooket. The winner was awarded a small gift, presented by Ms. Anuji. A group photo marked the end of a successful and enlightening session.
