The Annual General Meeting of the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Peradeniya, held on the 19th of July 2024 at the DEEE Seminar Room of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, was a remarkable event marking the transition of responsibilities to a new leadership team. The event attracted key figures within the IEEE community, most notably Prof. Maheshi Dissanayake, Chair of the IEEE Central Region Sub-Section, who attended as the chief guest. Prof. Dissanayake’s presence was a significant boost to the morale of the attendees, emphasizing the importance of the IEEE Student Branch in fostering leadership and innovation among students. Dr. Ruwan Ranaweera, Senior Lecturer and long-serving Advisor and Senior Treasurer of the society, also lent his guidance and support, demonstrating his continued dedication to the growth of the student branch. The outgoing office bearers officially completed their tenure by handing over their responsibilities to the newly elected office bearers for the term 2024/25. The outgoing Chairperson acknowledged the achievements of the previous year and expressed her gratitude to the team for their commitment and collaboration. With this smooth transition of leadership, the branch looks forward to another year filled with opportunities, development, and innovative activities under the guidance of the new executive committee.
