IEEE Student Branch of SLTC – August Meeting Summary

Description
The meeting's primary purpose was to gather the pre-exam status updates from each OU, including the conclusions of events and the status of upcoming projects. The weekly updates of student branch chapters and the affinity group kicked off with WIE updating everyone on their upcoming flagship project's progress. They've successfully finalized the main organizing committee members. They're currently discussing about the timeline and the scope of the project. Also, the WIE chairperson gave an update on the submission status of the VioletGlow’24 vTool report. IES then provided updates on officially wrapping up SL Arduino Challenge, including submitting all necessary reports and documents. Next, IAS shared updates on their ongoing project, Venturify, which is a collaboration with SLIIT IAS. Then, he gave updates on the proposal of InnovMind, a project aimed at school students. Then, CS shared updates on the status of the proposal of their upcoming project, CyberCon. This workshop will be held as an online webinar, aimed at SLTC undergraduates. Next, SB treasurer raised a few concerns about the budget report of Arduino Challenge and asked IES to update it. Then, the SB secretary gave the updates on the vTools and the updated transaction of vTool access of IES. Finally, SB vice chair gave updates on the ongoing collaborative project with the SLTC CS SBC, DECODE XTREME, a two-day online webinar series, which is focused on IEEEXtreme 18.0. After all updates from everyone, the SB chairperson announced and asked to get ready for an awareness session on IEEE and SLTC IEEE, which is needed to be conducted for 10, 11, and DAIT batches of SLTC. It would be held on the 20th of September 2024. Overall, the meeting facilitated productive discussions on concluded, ongoing and upcoming projects, vTool reports, and other documentation. Action points were identified, and responsibilities were assigned accordingly.
