IEEE Student Branch of SLTC – September Meeting Summary

Description
The meeting's primary purpose was to gather post-exam status updates from each OU, including the status of upcoming projects. The weekly updates of student branch chapters and the affinity group kicked off with IAS updating everyone on their ongoing project, InnovMind’s progress. They've successfully reached out to resource personnel and held meetings with resource personnel. The project structure involves three online workshops, an online quiz followed by a physical competition, possible venue for the physical competition was also finalized. Next, CS shared updates on their upcoming projects, CyberCon and GitGenius. They’re aiming at SLTC undergraduates and both will conduct online webinars. For the GitGenius project, they’re reaching out to the Git Hub Sri Lanka Community to build up a collaboration with them. Then, WIE started to update everyone on their upcoming project, InspiHER{Tech}V3.0, their flagship event. They’re preparing the proposal for the event. IES shared updates on their upcoming projects. They’re preparing for a collaborative project with the IES at the University of Ruhuna. Next on they’re planning to conduct an Analog Electronics project, and that is also in the planning stage of it. Finally, updates from the SB members were taken. SB secretary gave an update on the status of the project proposal for IEEE Day 2024, which is a collaboration with the SLTC CS. Then, SB treasurer updated the budget for that event. Next, SB vice chair gave an update on the ongoing project, DECODE XTREME, and a brief update on IEEE Day 2024. IEEE Day 2024 will be held physically and feature an awareness session on LinkedIn and CV Writing. The event will be held on the 23rd of October at SLTC Padukka premises.
