On the 25th of August, 2024, IEEE Y2NPro conducted the third webinar in their Battery Technology and Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles Workshop Series. Held virtually at 6 p.m., the session featured Dr. Beshan Kulapala , Vice President of Technology and Innovation at Volt Charge, Saudi Arabia, and CEO of Cyrus Sri Lanka. Titled “ Charging Infrastructure Innovations II, ” the webinar focused on the advancements in EV charging networks, with Dr. Kulapala drawing from his vast experience in founding Vega Innovations and developing South Asia’s first electric supercar. His presentation provided participants with insights into building large-scale charging networks, such as Sri Lanka’s Chargenet, and discussed the integration of EV infrastructure with innovative technologies in the field. He also shared his experiences from working at Intel Corporation, offering a unique perspective on technological leadership. The event saw an audience of 47 participants, including IEEE members and guests, who were highly engaged during the interactive session. Dr. Kulapala’s expertise, particularly in leading transformative projects in EV technology, made the session both informative and inspiring for those interested in the future of charging infrastructure. IEEE Y2NPro continues to host valuable webinars to help professionals and enthusiasts gain insights from leading industry figures, furthering their knowledge in the evolving field of battery technology and EV infrastructure.
