On September 8, 2024 , IEEE Y2NPro hosted the sixth webinar in their Battery Technology and Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles Workshop Series. Held virtually from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. IST, the session was organized by IEEE YPSL, with IEEE YP as the cosponsor. Titled “ The EV Battery Supply Chain: The Challenges of Ensuring Sustainability, ” the event featured Prof. Niles Perera from the University of Moratuwa. Prof. Perera , a specialist in Transport and Logistics Management and a prominent figure in supply chain research, delivered an insightful presentation on the complexities of building sustainable EV battery supply chains. Drawing from his extensive experience in enhancing lean supply chains through digitalization and his leadership in research, he shared strategies for tackling key challenges in supply chain sustainability. The event attracted 47 participants, including 15 IEEE members and 32 guests, who participated in a lively discussion on the future of sustainable logistics in the electric vehicle industry. IEEE Y2NPro continues to offer high-impact webinars, fostering dialogue on critical issues in battery technology, supply chains, and EV infrastructure.
