On September 28, 2024 , IEEE Y2NPro hosted the tenth and final webinar in their Battery Technology and Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles Workshop Series . Held virtually from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. IST, the session was organized by IEEE YPSL, with IEEE YP as the cosponsor. Titled “ Battery Management Systems and Serial Communication, ” the event featured Eng. Dhanuka Perera from K D Rise Electrical Rise Motors. Eng. Perera delivered an in-depth presentation on the critical role of Battery Management Systems (BMS) and their integration with serial communication protocols in electric vehicles. The session covered key technical concepts related to BMS design, monitoring, and communication standards, providing participants with practical insights into ensuring effective energy management in EV systems. The event attracted 33 participants, including 15 IEEE members and 18 guests , who engaged in a comprehensive discussion on BMS technologies and their applications in the EV industry. IEEE Y2NPro successfully concluded their workshop series with this session, continuing to offer valuable opportunities for professionals and enthusiasts to deepen their understanding of cutting-edge developments in battery technology and EV infrastructure.
