Event Overview: HackElite 1.0 was the flagship project of the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of the University of Moratuwa for the term 2023/24. It was open to all female undergraduates from any university in Sri Lanka, with 300+ registered participants and 90+ teams. To provide insights into the competition, an awareness session was conducted while registrations were open, aiming to inspire undergraduates to take part in the event. Around 50 participants attended this session. Ms. Varaki Vakeesan from the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Moratuwa, was invited as the guest speaker. She shared her expertise and discussed how competitions have helped her build her career, inspiring participants to register for the competition. Following this, an online quiz was conducted on September 1, 2024, as the first phase of HackElite 1.0. The quiz aimed to assess participants' knowledge in programming, analytical thinking, and general technology-related topics. Online Quiz: The quiz was hosted online and was accessible to all registered participants. It consisted of 45 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The duration of the quiz was 1 hour and 30 minutes. 47 teams were selected for the next phase based on their quiz scores.
