The IEEE Innovation Nation Sri Lanka (INSL) is a national competition aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship among youth, with a strong focus on tech innovation. It provides a platform for students and young professionals to present their ideas and projects, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka. As part of this initiative, preparatory workshops were held across all nine provinces, equipping participants with the necessary skills to succeed in the competition. The Uva Provincial competition for the Idea Stage category took place on November 20, 2024, at the Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka. The event saw the participation of five teams, who competed to secure the top three spots and qualify for the semi-finals. The competition was judged by a panel of distinguished professionals: Dr. Gayan Amarasooriya : Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Applied Sciences; Director, Career Guidance Unit; Faculty Coordinator, UBL Cell, Uva Wellassa University. Mr. M. Janotheepan : Lecturer in Computer Science, Department of Computer Science and Informatics, Uva Wellassa University. Mr. Deepal Samarakoon : Lecturer, Department of Computer Science and Informatics, Uva Wellassa University. The competition concluded with Team InnoVortex securing first place, followed by Team Kamino in second place and Team Virgo in third. The event was a testament to the innovative potential of young minds in the Uva Province and highlighted their ability to bring forward creative solutions to real-world problems. This successful event not only showcased the talents of the participants but also emphasized the importance of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth of Sri Lanka.
