Description

The InspiHER{Tech} V3.0 project, proudly organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Student Branch Affinity Group of SLTC , stands as a beacon of empowerment, innovation, and opportunity for female undergraduates in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and IT fields. This transformative initiative is designed to inspire and uplift young women, equipping them with the skills, confidence, and creativity necessary to excel in modern technological and engineering domains. Through a combination of foundational learning and advanced skill-building opportunities, InspiHER{Tech} V3.0 nurtures technical expertise and fosters innovation. By celebrating talent and igniting curiosity, the project paves the way for a future where women lead with distinction and drive impactful change in the tech industry. The InspiHER{CADMastery} online workshop series commenced with an engaging and insightful Session 1, featuring two esteemed guest speakers whose contributions enriched the event and left a lasting impression on the participants. As the Regional Student Representative of IEEE Region 10, Mrs. Warunika Hippola graced the event with her presence and inspiring words. She commended the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of SLTC for organizing the InspiHER{Tech} project for the third consecutive time, recognizing its significant role in empowering young undergraduates. Her heartfelt encouragement motivated attendees to embrace their potential and actively engage in the sessions. The Operations Manager and Senior Lecturer at CADD Centre Lanka Pvt Ltd, Mr.Gayashri Bandara brought a wealth of expertise to the session. He provided participants with a comprehensive introduction to the CADD Center’s global training methodology , emphasizing its practical and hands-on approach to learning. Mr. Bandara highlighted numerous benefits of studying CAD, including enhanced design skills, increased industry relevance, and promising career prospects. His insights equipped attendees with the knowledge to appreciate the importance of CAD in modern engineering and technology fields. The first session of InspiHER{CADMastery} was meticulously designed to provide participants with a solid foundation in Computer-Aided Design (CAD). Mr. Bandara guided attendees through the following key areas: Introduction to CAD and Its Applications: Participants gained a clear understanding of CAD and its pivotal role in industries such as engineering, architecture, and product design. CADD Center Global Training Methodology: Mr. Bandara elaborated on the globally recognized training methods employed by the CADD Center, focusing on practical learning and real-world application. Benefits of Studying CAD: Enhanced design capabilities. Improved problem-solving skills. Increased employability in competitive job markets. Opportunities for career advancement in technical and engineering fields. A highlight of the session was the interactive Q&A segment, where participants actively engaged with Mr. Bandara. They posed thoughtful questions and shared their concerns about CAD concepts and applications. Mr. Bandara addressed each query with clarity and patience, providing practical solutions and using concise examples to illustrate his points. We were pleased to capture the perfect photograph, creating a lasting memory.
