Description
The InspiHER{Tech} V3.0 project, proudly organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Student Branch Affinity Group of SLTC , aims to empower women in STEM and IT through innovative learning experiences. Among its three dynamic phases, Phase 2: InspiHER{ByteBattle} stands out as an exhilarating, high-energy technology quiz that evaluates participants' technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of digital trends. InspiHER{ByteBattle} was designed to challenge participants' understanding of IT concepts, problem-solving skills, and technological advancements. Teams of three members each, representing a diverse pool of talent, competed against one another in this high-energy quiz. The event aimed to create a platform for participants to test their knowledge, explore cutting-edge concepts, and foster a sense of camaraderie among peers. The session unfolded in a structured manner, with moderators setting the tone through a brief introduction to the quiz. Participants were then divided into 12 breakout rooms, ensuring an organized and focused environment. This setup facilitated teamwork, active participation, and effective communication within each group. Coordinators provided instructions and outlined the rules to ensure a smooth and productive session. The quiz lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes, and participants faced questions across four difficulty levels: Beginner, Proficient, Expert, and Legendary. The varied difficulty levels not only tested the participants’ fundamental knowledge but also pushed them to think critically and creatively. The marking scheme was straightforward, with no penalties for incorrect answers. Expert judges evaluated all submissions, and their decisions were final. Participants accessed the quiz through a Zoom link provided beforehand. Upon logging in, they enabled their cameras and microphones for identity verification and seamless communication and also shared their screens as needed. The moderators ensured a smooth division into breakout rooms, where teams collaborated to tackle the questions. Throughout the quiz, teams worked against the clock, strategizing and utilizing their collective knowledge to answer questions within the allotted time. The diverse topics tested not only their technical skills but also their ability to adapt to varying levels of complexity. The moderators played a pivotal role in ensuring the event’s success. After an engaging introduction, they kept participants motivated and on track during the quiz. The carefully crafted questions inspired participants to think critically, and the competitive atmosphere added an element of excitement. At the end of the session, the moderator invited the Secretary to deliver a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing committee, participants, and judges. This gesture highlighted the collaborative spirit and dedication that went into making the event a success. Finally, a photograph of the participants was taken, capturing the memorable moment. InspiHER{ByteBattle} was more than just a quiz; it was an opportunity for participants to challenge themselves, learn from one another, and experience the thrill of competition. By including a broad spectrum of IT-related topics, the event encouraged participants to deepen their understanding of core concepts and explore emerging technologies. Phase 2 also emphasized the importance of teamwork, as participants collaborated under pressure to deliver their best. InspiHER{ByteBattle} demonstrated how initiatives like these can inspire confidence, build technical expertise, and foster a sense of belonging among women in tech.
