MoraForesight 2.0 is the second successful iteration of the groundbreaking youth empowerment initiative organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Moratuwa. Building on the success of the first edition, which was recognized as the " Best Student Branch Project" at the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards in 2023 , MoraForesight 2.0 aimed to further elevate the technological and leadership potential of Sri Lankan youth aged 16 to 20. The selection process for MoraForesight 2.0 was carefully curated and consisted of two main categories: the Selection Test Category and the Premier Talent Category . The Selection Test Category involved a two-stage process: Online Selection Test Physical Selection Test Both categories required participants to meet mandatory eligibility criteria, including full participation and commitment throughout the process. Completing the Commitment Test was essential for qualifying, ensuring that only dedicated and driven individuals were selected for the program. The program was held as a 2-Day Residential Boot Camp at CEWAS, Rathmalana, on September 7th and 8th, 2024 . It brought together 80 exceptional students selected from across the island, ensuring diversity and equal opportunity. Participants engaged in transformative workshops on Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT, and Entrepreneurship . Beyond technical knowledge, the event emphasized personal growth, enhancing skills such as leadership, teamwork, and critical thinking . These Delegates , representing diverse backgrounds from across the island, were envisioned as future pioneers who would carry the spark of technology and entrepreneurship back to their communities. They were expected to not only apply the knowledge and skills gained during the program but also inspire others, fostering innovation and driving positive change within their local environments. One of MoraForesight’s defining features is its lasting impact. Participants from the first edition have already launched startups and achieved significant milestones in their respective fields. The initiative doesn’t end with the boot camp—its ripple effect extends through the Foresight Academy , which provides ongoing mentorship and support to participants, fostering long-term growth and community impact. With MoraForesight 2.0 successfully concluded, the team looks forward to even greater achievements in MoraForesight 3.0, inspiring the next generation of visionary thinkers.
