Description
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the term 2024/25 of the IEEE Signal Processing Society Student Branch Chapter (SPS SBC) of the University of Moratuwa was successfully held on 07th February as a virtual event via the Zoom platform . The meeting was attended by 30 participants , including 15 new members who joined the society. The event commenced with a welcome address by the outgoing Chairman , followed by a speech delivered by the Student Branch Advisor, Dr. Chamira Edussooriya , who shared his insights on the society’s achievements and future prospects. Subsequently, the official reports for the past term were presented in the following order: Minutes of the previous AGM – Presented by the outgoing Secretary . Treasurer’s Report – Presented by the outgoing Treasurer . Annual Report – Presented by the outgoing Chairman . The election of the new Executive Committee (ExCom) for the 2024/25 term was then conducted by the outgoing Chairman. The newly elected and appointed Chairman presented the strategic plan and key initiatives for the upcoming term, outlining the vision and objectives of the society. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the newly elected Secretary , expressing gratitude to the outgoing committee for their contributions and welcoming the new members to the society. This AGM marked the beginning of an exciting new term, with a strong commitment to fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional development within the IEEE Signal Processing Society Student Branch Chapter at the University of Moratuwa.
