The IEEE Student Branch of the University of Moratuwa organized " Why IEEE? " to introduce undergraduate students, especially freshers, to IEEE and the opportunities it offers. The session was held on 11th January 2025 from 7.00 PM onwards via Zoom , with 150+ participants joining to learn about IEEE, its structure, and the impact of Student Branches. The session covered the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Moratuwa, its purpose, ongoing initiatives, and how students can benefit from IEEE membership and volunteering . Participants gained insights into how IEEE fosters professional and personal growth through networking, technical advancements, and leadership opportunities. To conclude, all passionate and motivated participants were invited to join our newly introduced volunteer pool, an initiative designed to give students the chance to contribute to Student Branch events and get actively involved in IEEE activities.
